R.I.P VIBE Magazine

Most companies are being hit heavy with the recession. BUUUTTTT never in a million years would I think VIBE magazine was gonna get hit with the bang!! GURRRRR. It's a shame. I interned there last Fall semester and needless to say the people there are amazing!!!!!! They are all great editors and some people have been with the company for years. My biggest issue is where do they go from here??? How many hip-hop publications are extending their arms. uhmmmm NONE!!!! It's sad. It really is. Great writers are going to be struggling to find a place of employment. STARTING OVER!!! Wait, I'm confused..Does that mean The Most Mag is folding too??? But they seemed to have been struggling for a min...

But in recent years the title has fallen on hard times under its new owner, the Wicks Group, which bought it in 2006. In February, it reduced its circulation and publishing frequency, cut salaries and moved employees to a four-day workweek to save money.

They sure as hell fooled me. When I interned there everything seemed peachy. But my main concern is...Do you think this had to do with their increase of rent from rinky dink Lexington ave to Wall St....Their new offices are AMAZING!!! Equipped with a balcony which overlooks the entire water!!! I want to offer some people a shoulder to cry on..Because to VIBE, it was their life. They eat, slept and breathed that bad boy. And noww...there's nothing.

It truly is a sad week for black people. First MJ and now VIBE folding. I hope things get better.

I Hate to Do It Like This...

I really do. I try to be nice. But people tend to push my buttons..So now I have to make you and every other statistic like yourself feel like the crap on the bottom of my SoHo walking shoes. So because of YOU, I'm gonna let EVERYBODY know what the deal is. And throughout my endeavors doing so, you may take my attitude for being cocky!! NO NO NO sweety, I'm just speaking the truth.

Sooooo when I wake up in the morning, I turn my computer on and my AIM usually pops up. And if time permits, I'm nosy and I read peoples aways. So this morning I ran across an something that made me laugh!! And after I laughed I said to myself...DAMN I LOVE MY FUCKIN LIFE!!! So with that being said let me elaborate for those who feel the need to think that they have moved on to bigger and better things. Bigger-- yes. Better-- HELL NO! I am 20 years old. I have more experience in the work force then most of your parents do. My first job was CVS when I was 16..I worked there for 2 months and after that..I knew what I DIDN'T want to do for the rest of my life. Retail jobs!? BITCH PLEASSEEE!! I leave that for the uneducated hoodrats.

At the age of 20 I have worked at a real estate office, a law office, a call center, interned at a MAJOR publication AND now am a receptionist at a multi-billion dollar company. I've had better jobs then most 50 year olds. Which means, by the time I'm 30..SHIITTTT I might be the CEO of a company. Because there is only one way left to go..and that is UP!!

So with that being said...I just wanna give you FELLAS a heads up that when you THINK you have moved on to better things..I laugh at you. Because knowing the type of person you are. And knowing that you are still on section 8 and wellfare. Knowing that you still grocery shopping at FoodTown....All these things let ME know that I have moved on to bigger and better things. I will be graduating from one of the most prestigious UNIVERSITIES in NYC with a resume that goes harder then a pornstar (thanks los). I'm not trying to say I'm better then anybody. That would be self-centered. But I am saying that people should know their place in society and stay there.

I am a very giving person. ANYBODY that knows me will tell you that. I am also very mature for my age. I'm not stingy with my accomplishments and achievements. I am someone that ANYONE can bring home to their mother! ANYONE! I have never met someones mother that didn't instantly fall in love with me! I have never been to a job interview and not have an employer instantly fall in love with me! Shitt, I have never talked to a guy that didn't fall in love with me. Give or take a few circumstances.

So please..PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEAAASSEEEEEE know that YES, you may have moved on. But NO, not to better things. It doesn't get any better than this.

So I usually always elaborate on my disgust towards BET in general..Frankly, today isn't going to be any different. First off I would like to say that Jamie Foxx was not a good look for the host. He was trying to sell himself HARDCORE!! It was getting annoying-- especially when he cutt Beyonce off to make his dramatic intro to D.O.A (The Best Performance of the NIGHT!!) My poor girl Keri Hilson killed it-- not in a good way. That little acapella thing she was trying to do at the end?? Oh mmmm geeee she made a fool out of herself. I was even more disappointed in Ciara and Beyonce...They are performers!!! They can not sit down on a chair and expect the crowd to go wild. I was highly disappointed. And Bey did Ave Marie?? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!??? That was a yawner to the umph degree. The MJ tribute was weak. I mean the whole Janet tear jerker moment was great, but I expected something bigger. Something like BAM!!! But I'm understanding to the fact that they didn't have much time to put this together. Overall, the awards show was a snoozer! What happened to the nomination videos?? I was SO confused. People just came out said names and left. You can def tell that MTV puts WAYYYY more money into their award shows. The O'Jays was a good little feel to the show. Although Don Cornelious wouldn't shut the FUCK up! As far as the looks went....Rocsi needed to be slapped ten times!!! Ne-Yo's rented hoe needed to be returned back to the call girl company. They were so fake!! It was pure hilarity. Kissing when he won the award and stuff. PSH! And she was SO thirsty for camera time. I can't wait till MTO elaborates on that today! Soulja Boy's performance was weak. Drake was hurt so he had an excuse. But TREY SONGZ!! My baby daddy Trey...HE IS FIIOOOONNEEEE!!!! And Ryan Leslie was looking right as well! Beyonce looked a mess, Jay FINALLY cut his hair and Alicia was runner up for the 2nd most beautiful chick in that audience. It really made my night to see these two caked up in the audience!!!!!! AHHHHHH looovveeee it!!!!

She took it home!! She was THE most beautiful woman at that awards show. And how much did I L.O.V.E Tariji Henson's dress...OMG!! She was looking beautiful as well. But like I said, the show was whacker then crack. The most classic moment of the night....When Eddie Levert said shit!!! HAHAHHAHAA!! Boyyyy, BET needs some innovative thinkers on their staff. Geesh

It Wouldn't Be Right If I Didn't Do It!

When I walked out of my building last night, there was only one trending topic coming out of EVERYBODY'S mouth. This was one thing that had nothing to do with race, color, sexual orientation etc. It brought the entire world together. And I do mean together. "We are the World".

Who would have thought MJ's death was going to be what really brought people together. Last night, hundreds of people gathered peacefully at the Apollo theatre in Harlem. The keyword here is "peacefully". It's sad to see such an icon go, but it is also amazing to see the impact which he left amongst us. MJ's music isn't going ANYWHERE!!!! It's been many, many years later and they STILL play his songs in the clubs. In the clubs!!!!! Shiittt, Soulja Boy has a hard time getting his songs played at the clubs. It really is sad. I mourn for his family! Especially his family. But I look at it this way, Michael has had a tough life. REALLY tough. From child hood up until now. I praise him for staying strong in such difficult struggles. He will be missed, but his music will live on.....

So while everyone is jamming out to thriller and black and white....I'm going IN!!! Because my favorite MJ song of all time is.....

Another Disappointing Monday!

No surprise here. -_-. Last night before I went to bed, I told myself that tomorrow was going to be a bad day. I just knew it!! I have a headache, I'm emotionally unstable and I have to shit...My feet are SCREAMING and needless to say, I am freaking exhausted. I honestly can not wait until I go home..because I'm not even going to use my computer I am going to sleep sleep sleep. Today has been a rough day. Hmm. So Hiya!

So recently I have been staying away from my personal life and going ahead and gallavanting in the artistic expression genre of my life. So needless to say, I need to make a pit stop to let ya'll know how lovely things are going for me.

I love my job. I really do!! It's great. Perks, friendly people AND I get to blog. But with that being said..I finally got back that missing piece of the puzzle. Ya know, that end piece that fell in the corner of the couch! Well by golly gee I found it!! Well I knew where it was all along, I was just wayyy too lazy to go and get it. But anyways, it's here and that adds to my happiness. And what's sooooo strange is the fact that there are plenty of unsolved issues in my life but the good is just clouding those stressful thoughts.

This was just a quicky. I hope my happiness somehow grows contagious and carries on to all of you.
